ABERRO ANNOUNCES VERSION 2.0 OF ABERROTEST
Combines the Flexibility of Manual Test Techniques and the Fast, Unattended Test Execution of Traditional
Automation to Bring Robust Testing Earlier in the Software Development Cycle
Annapolis, MD---July 1, 2007 Aberro Inc., is pleased to announce version
2.0 of AberroTest, the next generation of software testing.
AberroTest is designed for manual testers and developers alike. Version 2.0 incorporates easy-to-use
drop-down menus for the manual tester, eliminating the need for scripting or programming skills.
Aberro’s advanced feature set brings rapid testing capability to the developer community as well, providing
powerful verification rules and in-depth probing to ensure proper storage of persistent data.
AberroTest Basic is designed for early, fast UI testing. “This is truly a UI treadmill,”
says CTO Bill Rogers. “You use AberroTest to scan for all interaction points, connect data
inputs, and click Run Testing. AberroTest cycles through the application and points out navigation
errors and the immediate obvious problems with the user interface. We are a perfect complement to
unit testing.” Rogers says to “use unit testing to find problems in the source code,
use AberroTest to find the UI problemswe only need the executable. AberroTest is a perfect addition
to the developer’s work station.”
AberroTest Professional combines the usability of AberroTest Basic and then adds the power of
verification rules. These ‘if-then’ statements let you trap defects with simple to
complex verification tests that utilize navigation, business logic, and persistent data values.
Product training in basic operations is quick and easy, usually taking a half-day. Aberro Customer
Support collaborates with prospective buyers to set up initial configurations using the client’s
target application.
AberroTest V2.0 builds on the powerful Aberro core test engine and autodiscovery technology, providing
rapid identification of all control elements in Windows and Web applications (HTML, Java Script,
and IE 6.0 or later). Building an inventory of all control elements, Aberro automatically
identifies all points of interaction in the GUI as well as output controls that display results.
Aberro’s natural flow testing thoroughly evaluates most target applications. New deterministic
flow capability can be selected using Aberro’s virtual application flow to set a precise path
through the application. The mix of virtual flow and natural flow enables testers to automatically
generate thousands of navigation paths from a single Aberro configuration.
Aberro has significantly expanded the library of controls that are automatically handled by
AberroTest, including Win32 controls, Delphi, Infragistics, Woll2Woll, .NET1 and .NET2. For custom
controls, AberroTest is fully extensible by the client, or Aberro Customer Services will customize
AberroTest to handle specialized third-party controls.
Todd Bramblett, CEO of LeverPoint Inc., reports significant cost savings during their first month of
use. “LeverPoint is a global software development and testing organization with over 300
professionals in US, India, Belarus and Argentina. We are seeing a 2530% reduction in
testing costs after only one month’s usage. We expect to improve as we learn all the power of
AberroTest. We are making AberroTest a cornerstone platform for our new Testing Factory offering.”
According to Doug Smith, CEO of Aberro Inc., “We are very pleased with the market response to
Version 2.0. We set out to create a better testing platform that is much easier to use and can be
deployed very early in the test cycle. This is a product that dramatically increases the productivity
of the manual tester and also provides a complementary testing product for the software developer.”
